The Mayan culture has left many incredible archaeological sites in the Riviera Maya. Xcaret is probably one of the most visited sites that is close to Playa del Carmen. In this theme park of Mexico tourists and locals can see numerous animal species and they also have the chance to enjoy swimming with dolphins or do other great outdoor activities.

There are many tours in the Riviera Maya that include Xcaret o Hel-Ha that is another wonderful park that features various archaeological remains of the Mayans. These two eco-archaeological parks are really worth visiting.
Other great site that you should visit in the Riviera Maya is Coba, which is a beautiful city where you can enjoy birdwatching and other activities. However, there are many other sites that are also worth visiting such as Dzibanche, Muyil and Chacchoben,
